The candidate has deep knowledge of current and emerging state initiatives and programs including, but not limited to, the Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI); the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI); Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX); Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators and Students Statewide (ACCESS); and RTI (Response to Instruction) and their relationship to student achievement.
Social Media Reflection
Through my engagement with professional learning communities on social media, I have developed a deeper understanding of key Alabama initiatives such as ARI, AMSTI, ALEX, ACCESS, and RTI. I have followed educators and state-supported pages that regularly share updates, instructional strategies, and classroom resources aligned with these programs. For example, I discovered practical ways to implement ALEX standards through shared lesson ideas and learned how RTI frameworks can be applied in early childhood settings to support diverse learners. These interactions have helped me see the direct connection between these initiatives and improved student achievement. As a result, I feel more confident aligning my instruction with state expectations and best practices.
